Inventor Basic (English)

During the Inventor basic course you will learn to make designs and drawings with Inventor. The 3D model will be discussed in detail, so you can quickly make adjustments and test disciplines. We will tell you how to make assemblies and working drawings. Also techniques such as simulation and exploded view are covered during the course.

Who should take this course?

The Inventor basic course is meant for engineers and constructors who want to work with Inventor.

What prior knowledge do you need for this course?

You don’t need any knowledge of Inventor to participate in this course. Your own professional knowledge is sufficient. Some general knowledge and experience with Windows is required.

The Inventor basic course covers the following topics:
Day 1:

  • Create 2D sketches

  • Geometric limitations

  • Basic shape techniques

  • Extruding

Day 2:

  • Revolve

  • Sweep

  • Loft

  • Apply patterns

  • Parametric forms

  • Applying construction and center lines

Day 3:

  • Creating a composition

  • Using components

  • Placing, making and constraining

  • Content Center (library)

  • Design in a composition

  • Making views

  • The environment drawing sheet

Day 4:

  • Basic and projections

  • Sizing, annotations

  • Automatic dimensioning

  • Dimension manually

  • Center lines, symbols

  • Annotations in a composition

Course material and facilities

On the first day of training you will receive digital instructional material including practice assignments. 

For our classical Inventor courses we have excellent facilitated training locations throughout the Netherlands. During the training we offer you unlimited coffee, tea and ice water. The lunch will also be provided by us. If you successfully complete the basic course, you will receive an official Autodesk certificate.

As a student of the Inventor basic course you will get access to our online learning platform, called Cadix Academy, for one year. This advanced, very user-friendly learning environment offers extensive information which you can use during your training, such as study material, additional assignments, study tips, questions, instructional videos and links to interesting sources on the internet, in books and articles.
